la Vuelta 2017 (and Fantasy League) Updated
Fantasy Vuelta a Espana

www.velogames.com

League Code: 865211020

So there I was, pouring myself a delicious glass of EPO, rubbing my crotch with chamois cream and getting ready to slowly ride eight abreast on country lanes, when I saw Velogames tweet that the TdF edition of their excellent fantasy league is now open.

So for the third (or maybe fourth) year, I've set up a WHO league for you lovely people.

League Code: 605421720

And as per usual, feel free to post about the build-up and the race itself on this thread. Chapeau!

Well done Dan (****) ;-)

What a great couple of races, Contador yesterday was supreme, deserved the victory and the great send of today regardless of the past.

Roll on 2018.

It was superb to watch Contador yesterday. There can't have been anyone who didn't want him to take that stage. He rode like a warrior!

Amazing from Froome. What an athlete! Won GC, points and all round jerseys. DOMINANCE.

It was great to see Contador go out like that on the Angliru. What a race, far more happening than the Giro or Tour on a brutal course. Froome is approaching the greats now,

Well played Dan, good work. Torino hammer rank last which was also very enjoyable!

Well done to Chris Froome for an unprecedented Tour-Vuelta double and, more importantly, well done to me for winning the WHO league.

Thanks to everyone that joined one or both of the leagues this summer.

TDF lost several riders to crashes.....now lost 2 Vuelta riders to illness!
its not my year...

tried watching the Eurosport coverage at the weekend, I agree that the commentators are terrible

Re: la Vuelta 2017 (and Fantasy League)
The good news is that I found a free live stream for the laptop.....The bad news is that the commentary team is the humourless dull Sean Kelly and the irritating voice of the commercial radio dj / QVC type false presenter of Carlton Kirby....
Hopefully with the increased popularity of top level road cycling next year ITV4 will show all 3 grand tours live....
then I can only hope that they ditch so many advert breaks (far too much to expect!)

Eight in with a chance of winning? I think that's a bit generous!

You need to use code 865211020 not the one on the top post. That's the old TDF league.

I'm in but can only see 3 teams

Orica can play three cards every day in Yates x 2 and Chaves.

Not sure any team can stop them attacking one after the other. Especially as Sky won't be able to dominate the front of the peloton.

Re: la Vuelta 2017 (and Fantasy League)
This is probably the strongest grand tour GC competition of the year, there are eight I reckon who are in with a chance of winning. Given the route it is not much of a surprise that the sprint field looks thin.

Possibly my favourite GT and looking foward to this. Anyway team done and in and as always think i know my cycling and got a good team on paper, but as always I shall lose my best rider on day one and finish near the bottom! Oh and great team name Def :-)

I'm IN.

Apologies to all the riders I have picked - your Vuelta aspirations are now over.

Dan

I've joined the league again and am now there OK. But if you know Barry Turner/Sea of Sky could you give him a nudge and tell he he needs to rejoin. He is now in a league with just him in it for some reason
